Import an OPC UA server certificate to the client’s list of issuers

To communicate with an OPC UA server, the client needs one or more trusted server certificates. At the client level, import the certificate chain. Issuer certificates enable trust of all servers from that issuer.

You can import a specific self-signed certificate from the client’s physical device. By default, DeltaV looks for certificate files in DeltaV\DVData\Import-Export.

  1. Select the OPC UA Client in the DeltaV Explorer hierarchy.
  2. Right-click Properties.
  3. Click Issuers.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Browse to the certificate file (.der or .cer).
  6. Click the certificate file and then click Open.
    The software adds the certificate to the Issuers list.
