DeltaVScreenSaver example: create a user account

From User Manager, select File → New → User.
Fill in the following on the General tab:
- Name – ViewOnly
- Full Name – View Only
- Password and Confirm Password – viewonly
- Desc – View Only with alarm presentation
Note

ViewOnly and viewonly are just examples. You can use whatever account name and password you prefer. You will use them again when configuring the DeltaVScreenSaver.
Select the following check boxes on the Advanced tab:
- User Can't Change Password
- Password Never Expires
On the Groups tab, verify that no groups are in the Belongs To column.
On the Keys tab grant the User Lock 10 for <Sitewide>.

Note

This assumes you are not already using User Lock 10 for anything else in your system.

When running DeltaV software in a Windows domain environment, the ViewOnly user account is created at the domain level and is granted proper access rights to run DeltaV software on each workstation through the use of global groups.

When running DeltaV software in a Windows workgroup environment, the ViewOnly account is created as a local account on the ProfessionalPLUS workstation. To use this account on other workstations, run the User Manager's Replicate Account command (from the File menu) and select the workstations you want the account replicated to.
