Campaign Manager
A campaign is a group of batches, usually based on a single production recipe, that are linked to the same campaign ID. The DeltaV Campaign Manager is a client-server application that lets you create campaigns and control their execution. The Campaign Manager Operator Interface is the user application used to create and edit campaigns.
The Campaign Manager Operator Interface (CMOI) requires that the user, DeltaVAdmin, exist on the CMOI node. The Campaign Manager server cannot communicate with the CMOI without this user name existing. Also, the DeltaVAdmin user on the CMOI node must have the same password as the DeltaVAdmin user has on the DeltaV nodes.
The Campaign Manager Server controls the execution of a campaign, maintains all the runtime information about each campaign, and forwards the data to the DeltaV Batch Historian. For example, if a company wants to make 20 batches of a product, the campaign can be easily created and the batches scheduled to run automatically on the Batch Executive using the Campaign Manager.
Typically a campaign is set up as a sequence of identical or nearly identical batches to be run on one equipment train. When you create a campaign, you specify the process units the campaign will run on and the recipe formula. The batch recipe can be scaled to allow different size batches to be run using the same base recipe.
A campaign can be run in one of three execution modes: manual, auto release, or auto start. In addition, a campaign can be configured to automatically remove batches that have completed successfully, for each of these execution modes.
To run the batches in the campaign, they must be released to the Batch Executive. In manual mode, the operator must release and start the batches manually. In auto release mode, batches are released automatically and started manually. In auto start mode, batches are released and started automatically.
Campaigns can also be configured to run in continuous iteration. When continuous iteration is enabled and the campaign is in Auto mode, the Campaign Manager continues to add batches to this campaign (as needed to maintain the configured maximum active number of batches) based on the base recipe. Completed batches are removed from the campaign automatically. This allows the campaign to continue until continuous iteration is turned off. Once continuous iteration is turned off, the Campaign Manager runs all the remaining batches in the campaign (without creating more). When all remaining batches are run, the cleanup batch (if configured) is run.
Stopping or aborting a batch can only be done using the Batch Operator Interface or DeltaV Operate Batch controls .
The Campaign Manager Operator Interface is an Explorer-like application that has one main screen on which you create and edit campaigns. Dialogs are displayed to allow you to define the campaign name and number of batches as well as to specify the recipes, formulas, and unit bindings for each batch.
